Water has drained through the wooden frame and run down the canvas,
taking paint with it.
After cleaning and retouching.
Here we can clearly see the difference between an area of cleaned and uncleaned canvas.
A special 'tent' was constructed so that a fine layer of varnish could be applied to the canvas
